I met a man on vacation who was literally “Mr. Perfect.” We met spontaneously in a bar, although it was more on my initiative because I was fascinated. The chemistry between us was incredible. He looked like one of those men AI generates when you ask for the ideal partner. On top of that, he was very intelligent, successful, kind, and thoughtful — almost too good to be true. He looked a bit like Brad Pitt, and his personality was like Roger Federer’s (he’s Swiss, by the way).
He was there alone on a business trip. We spent several days together, and it felt like something out of a fairy tale. He told me he was single, and we agreed to stay in touch.
When I got home, I did a little Googling and and discovered on social media that he’s actually married, has three grown children, and is ten years older than he claimed to be. His social media accounts are private, but I found all this informations and pictures through the profile of one of his friends. I was completely shocked!
I don’t know how to bring this up without sounding like a stalker or a detective. Should I say anything at all, or should I just cut off contact?
